A comprehensive strategic plan for the housing sector requires a thorough review of the broad dimensions of housing and its related factors. Addressing housing indices is the key and most important planning tool; in other words, the housing index is a tool for measuring housing status and its evolution, as well as evaluating the success of policy research. The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of quantitative housing indicators to determine which areas of Shiraz are more suitable than other areas in terms of housing indicators. The research method is descriptive-analytical. To calculate the housing status, after determining the criteria and factors studied, weights are weighted by Shannon entropy method. Then, VIKOR Multi Criteria Decision Making Technique is used to calculate the indices. The results show that zones 4, 3, 2, 1 are in stable condition, respectively; zones 5, 6, 7 are in semi-stable conditions and zones 8 and 9 are in the most unfavorable conditions. Meanwhile, zone 4 with coefficient of 0.011 is in the highest condition and zone 9 with coefficient of 0.15 is in the worst condition. The results of the study call for a special view of city officials and managers to improve housing conditions and indicators, especially in disadvantaged areas of Shiraz.
