Background and objective: city is the achievement of human civilization. The cities have always faced many natural hazards and affected the life of its inhabitants. urban development has increased the severity of these hazards. Urban floods are the most important hazards that caused by many human and environmental factors. The purpose of this research is to prepare flood risk maps in Mashhad 9th district in order to prepare.
Method: In this research, six factors were considered: distance from the flood plain, height, population density, slope, the direction of slope and land use. In this research, AHP method, in the Expert Choice software and the layers has classified into the Arc GIS software with using its functions such as a Euclidean distance. The final risk map is also obtained by using the reclassify weighted normalization by the Raster calculator function.
Findings: According to the results of the research, six factors are affecting urban flood risk. Also, based on calculations, 74% of the area is in a low and very low-risk area, and 26% is located in the medium to very high-risk zone.
Results: Geographic Distribution The greater the risk of flood in the south and southwest of zone 9. This area of the city is included the slums. Urban managers in the relevant areas should be prepared with appropriate management solutions in areas with high-risk factors in the area to prevent and prepare for the pre-crisis phases.
