Investigating the Impact of Place Attachment on Sustainable Rural Development (Case Study: Villages of Lali County)

Abstract
One of the important and effective factors in enhancing the quality of human environments is place attachment. This sense is a crucial factor in forming the communicative foundation between users and the environment, ultimately leading to the creation of high-quality environments. In the contemporary world, and especially in our country, place attachment has diminished, becoming a new issue for humans. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to examine the impact of place attachment on sustainable rural development (case study: villages of Lali County). The research method is theoretical-applied, with an analytical and survey-based approach. The statistical population of this study consists of the residents of the villages in Lali County. To determine the sample size, Cochran's formula was used due to the infinite nature of the statistical population. Based on this, the sample size was determined to be 384 individuals. Sampling was performed using the convenience sampling method. To test the hypotheses, linear regression was used. According to the results obtained from the linear regression analysis, all hypotheses were confirmed at a 95% confidence level. The findings indicate that place attachment and its three components have a significant impact on sustainable rural development (in the economic, cultural, environmental, and physical aspects).
