The type of research is applied. The results show that organizations in their competitive environment are required to respond quickly to the needs of stakeholders and should be able to accelerate the decision-making process by using new tools. In the meantime, the extent and complexity of urban issues and the increasing growth and development of cities have made the management of urban affairs a difficult task. In the last two decades, the term information technology or information and communication technology as an emerging and powerful phenomenon has found its global place and is now expected in the cultural, economic, social and political structures as well as in the traditional foundations of administration. Communities, fundamental changes occur and a new system of management is introduced. The development of information and communication technology has caused many changes in various fields, including the emergence of the city, the municipality and the e-citizen. یکی از عوامل مهم در تصمیم گیری و برنامه ریزی مدیران شهری برای اداره امور شهرها، داشتن اطلاعات صحیح، دقیق و به روز است که جمع آوری، ذخیره سازی، بازیابی و پردازش حجم وسیعی از اطلاعات و داده ها بدون بهره گیری از فناوری اطلاعات را به امری اجتناب ناپذیر تبدیل کرده است. بر همین اساس هدف اصلی پژوهش حاضر سنجش ضرورت استفاده از فناوری اطلاعات در پیشبرد اهداف سازمانی شهرداریها با استفاده از روش توصیفی- تحلیلی می باشد. نوع پژوهش کاربردی است. نتایج پژوهش نشان می دهد سازمانها در محیط رقابتی خود ملزم به پاسخگویی سریع به نیازهای ذی نفعان می باشند و باید بتوانند با بهره گیری از ابزارهای نوین فرآیند تصمیم گیری را سرعت ببخشند. در این میان گستردگی و پیچیدگی مسائل شهری و رشد و توسعه روزافزون شهرها، مدیریت امور شهر را به وظیفه ای دشوار تبدیل نمودهاست. در دو دهه اخیر، واژه فناوری اطّلاعات یا فناوری اطّلاعات و ارتباطات به عنوان یک پدیده نوظهور و قدرتمند، جایگاه جهانی خود را پیدا کرده است و از هم اکنون انتظار میرود در ساختارهای فرهنگی، اقتصادی، اجتماعی و سیاسی و همچنین در بنیان های سنّتی اداره جوامع، تحولات اساسی رخ دهد و سیستم جدیدی از مدیریت معرفی گردد. گسترش فناوری اطّلاعات و ارتباطات باعث ایجاد تحولات بسیاری در زمینه های مختلف از جمله ظهور شهر، شهرداری و شهروند الکترونیکی شده است. https://www.gahr.ir/article_126906_a6777971babf220b7911569c75d706a1.pdf
