With the formation of the Qajar government, they obeyed the Qajar kings, but with the emergence of signs of weakness in the Qajar rule, they gradually increased their independence-seeking tendencies. The present study deals with the relations between Maku Khans and the government of Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar. This research, with historical method and descriptive-analytical approach, seeks to answer these questions: for what reasons did Maku region become a platform for the formation of local government by Khans of Bayat? What were the ups and downs of Khans of Maku relationship with the Qajar government during the period of Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar, and what were the Khans obligations towards the central government? The findings show that the presence of Bayat Khans from the Safavid period in Maku and their use of Maku's geographical location and Strategic near Iran's borders with the Ottoman and Russian countries and the use of the fighting power of the region's tribes and nomads were important factors in shaping their local power. The investigation of the Bayat family's relations with the Qajar government during the Nasrid period shows that, especially during the rule of Teymur Pasha, they resisted the centralizing measures of Nasir al-Din Shah and minimized the interference of the central government in Maku's affairs. خاندان بیات ماکویی از دورۀ شاه‌عباس اول در ماکو ساکن شدند و حکومت محلی این منطقه را با فرازوفرودهایی تا قدرت‌یابی قاجارها ادامه دادند. با تشکیل حکومت قاجار آن‌ها به اطاعت شاهان قاجار درآمدند، اما با بروز نشانه‌های ضعف در حاکمیت قاجارها، آن‌ها به‌مرور تمایلات استقلال‌طلبانۀ خود را بیشتر نمودند. پژوهش حاضر به روابط خوانین ماکو با حکومت ناصرالدین‌شاه قاجار پرداخته است. این پژوهش با روش تاریخی و رویکرد توصیفی-تحلیلی در پی پاسخ دادن به این پرسش‌ها است که منطقۀ ماکو به چه دلایلی بستری برای شکل‌گیری حکومت محلی توسط خوانین بیات شد؟ روابط خوانین ماکو با حکومت قاجار در دورۀ ناصرالدین‌شاه قاجار چه مراحلی را طی کرد و تعهدات خوانین در برابر حکومت مرکزی چه بود؟ یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد که حضور خوانین بیات از دورۀ صفویه در ماکو و بهره‌گیری آنان از موقعیت جغرافیایی و سوق‌الجیشی ماکو در مجاورت مرزهای ایران با کشورهای عثمانی و روسیه و استفاده از قدرت جنگی ایلات و عشایر منطقه، عوامل مهم شکل‌دهی به قدرت محلی آن‌ها بود. بررسی مناسبات خاندان بیات با حکومت قاجار در دورۀ ناصری بیانگر آن است که آن‌ها به‌خصوص در دورۀ حکمرانی تیمور پاشا در برابر اقدامات تمرکزگرایانۀ ناصرالدین‌شاه مقاومت کرده و دخالت حکومت مرکزی در امور ماکو را به حداقل رساندند. https://www.gahr.ir/article_203734_d74cfc1fc48fd3e519fdbe53745533cd.pdf
