Abstract

Differences in the nature of Thermal and reflection remote sensing have caused some difficulties and limitations in the application of thermal sensing data and its integration with reflective remote sensing. However, several studies have shown that in some cases, when combined with thermal and reflection data, it is possible to extract useful information from thermal sensing data. In this study, the effect of thermal band on Image Based processing; Minimum Noise Fraction (MNF) is investigated and analyzed. Therefore, after performing MNF processing in TM and ASTER datasets, the results of the process were evaluated and compared. False color combination of output components (MNF2, MNF3, MNF4) for TM and (MNF1, MNF2, MNF3) for ASTER data created in VNIR + SWIR + TIR range that caused different areas to appear on the salt domes of Firouzabad, Fars (Konarsiah & Jahani) with different colors. The results were compared with geological map, field observations and the accuracy of processing was evaluated.
