Abstract
Aims and Background: The present study is a model for locating and resettling the families of prisoners before and after imprisonment; It has dealt with the prisoners of the Ghezel Hesar complex and the Karaj penitentiary, in order to examine and assess the level of compliance of the families of the prisoners present in these prisons in relation to the area around the prison.

Methodology: This research, which is applied in terms of purpose and survey in terms of method, a researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect data. The statistical population includes prisoners in Ghezel hesar prisons, including Ghezel hesar penitentiary and Karaj central penitentiary. Among them, prisoners whose families lived in Alborz province were selected as a statistical sample. For data analysis, Wilcoxon test in SPSS software and spatial analysis commands in GIS software were used.

Results: The output of Wilcoxon test showed that out of 259 families surveyed, 202 families of prisoners were accommodated in the pre-prison and post-prison period and only in 4 cases we saw a change of residence.

Conclusion: In general, the results show that there is no evidence of the impact of the residential environment around the prison on the location of Ghezel Hesar prisons.
