Evaluation of new urbanism principles using EDAS and BWM models in Ahvaz city

Abstract
New urbanism is one of the most important movements related to the design of urban spaces, which aims to create a better space for citizens. The plans presented from the point of view of New urbanism include new changes and developments in the urban area, urban renewal and the preparation of a map of the suburbs. EDAS and BWM models have been used in this research. This research is applied-theoretical in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of nature and method. The required information and data have been collected through library and field methods. In this study, the effective indicators are: land acquisition cost, land area, distance to the main road network, distance to high-traffic streets, adjacent land use type, distance to commercial centers, distance to service centers, distance to pilgrimage centers, distance to historical centers, distance to medical centers, distance to educational centers, population density of the region and distance to administrative centers. These indicators have been weighted using the best-worst method, whose calculations were performed by Lingo software. Then, with the Idas method, the calculations of which are done in Excel software, the desired options are ranked. The results show that the land price index received the most weight, and the indicators of distance to medical centers and distance to high-traffic streets were ranked second and third, respectively. Then, using the Idas method, the final ranking has been done and the best option of the railway land has been introduced, and after that, Ahvaz commercial complex has been selected as the second option.
