Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to evaluate the economic sustainability of rural tourism development in the tourism target villages of West Azarbaijan province, including 4 villages of Saholan, Nosrat abad, Baghche jough and Hasanlu in Naqdeh city. In terms of research method, this study It is a descriptive-survey and applied type of research. In terms of the method of collecting and receiving information, this research is in the field of field studies. In order to achieve the sustainability of tourism development in the target villages, a suitable strategy should be adopted to achieve sustainability. In order to operationalize this part of the study, 72 items have been used. The explanatory items were compiled in four sections: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The statistical population of heads of households in four tourism target villages of West Azarbaijan province is 1160 people. To determine the sample size, the Krejci Morgan table was used. The sample size of household heads was 290. In order to select the statistical sample, proportional stratified sampling method was used. In order to collect the required data, a questionnaire was used. According to the purpose of the research as well as the background of the research and the literature of the subject and with the cooperation and consultation of professors and experts, the initial questionnaire was designed. Then, using the opinions of professors, experts of the Organization of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, and Housing Foundation, as well as field surveys in the study area, the final questionnaire was prepared. In this study, Cronbach's alpha method was used to measure the reliability of the measurement tool.
