Abstract
Following the increase in population and urbanization, climate change over the past decades has created unprecedented environmental challenges in cities. Green infrastructure systems have been proposed as a tool to increase resilience and deal with climate change in cities. Urmia, like other cities, is facing the effects of climate change. Therefore, this research examines the impact of green infrastructure on climate resilience in the neighborhoods of Region4 of Urmia City. The goals of this research are: extracting and measuring the criteria and indicators of the effects of urban green infrastructures on climate resilience and providing an optimal model according to the extracted indicators in order to increase climate resilience by using urban green infrastructures. To collect data from the statistics center, the detailed plan of Urmia city, the data available in the geographic information system, Google Earth images, Landsat satellite images, and the data extracted from the questionnaire were used. In order to analyze the data, the combined method of F'ANP was used using SPSS and Super Decision software, and then the neighborhoods were stratified using GIS software according to the composite index formula. The results show that25% of the localities are identified as having very high climate resilience, 16/66%in the high climate resilience category, 25%in the medium climate resilience category, 8/33% in the low climate resilience category, and 25% in the very low climate resilience category. With a general look at the current situation of the region, it was observed that the general situation of the region in terms of green infrastructure and climate resilience is not very satisfactory, so in the next stage, in order to provide an optimal model in order to increase the climate resilience of the neighborhoods by using urban green infrastructure, we will provide guidelines. Policies and action plans have been divided into neighborhoods.
