Today, urban interventions and the tendency of people to live by machines have led to the disintegration of the urban fabric, personal and psychological injuries and environmental pollution, and in addition to the material field, it has also affected the spiritual field of human life.
And it seems that today's city is far from worthy of human life. Therefore, in order to get out of the divisions that our cities have suffered and return to unity and integrity as the most important principle of Iranian-Islamic cities, it is necessary to think deeply about the principles of Islamic urban planning for new constructions. A brief overview of the current situation indicates the absence of a coherent and comprehensive plan. In this regard, this research seeks to apply the values of the Islamic city in today's era and for the global scope, and has been compiled with the aim of extracting a comprehensive model for the revival of the Islamic city from the perspective of Islamic thought. The present research is descriptive-analytical. The collection of information is based on library and documentary studies. In order to achieve the goal of the research, the foundations and models of the Islamic city were first studied, and factors such as the principle of introversion, the principle of hierarchy, the principle of centrality, etc. were recognized as effective factors in creating a high-quality space in accordance with Islamic principles. Then the proposed model of the current research is based on the combination of physical, semantic, social and economic features. The results of this study can be widely used for planning in contemporary cities by city managers and planners such as municipalities, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
