Abstract
The aim of the present study was to identify the factors affecting the design and construction of rural sports clubs. This research is applied, qualitative in nature, using thematic analysis as the research method. The statistical population of the study included sports management professors, senior managers and experts from the Ministry of Sports and Youth, senior managers and experts from the Rural Sports Federation and Indigenous Games, experienced heads of sports federations in provinces and districts, and experts in rural sports and traditional games. The sample was selected from the members of the population using purposive and snowball sampling methods. The data collection tool was semi-structured interviews with 17 experts, conducted until theoretical saturation was reached. The validity of the study was confirmed by relevant specialists, and the reliability of the research was obtained using the intra-coder agreement method, resulting in 86%. The results revealed that the study had 60 sub-themes, which were categorized into 6 organizing themes: environmental factors, economic factors, managerial factors, cultural factors, political factors, and social factors. In the design and construction of rural sports clubs, sustainable and environmentally compatible management strategies should be considered to minimize future costs and environmental damage. All designs related to sports clubs should comply with environmental requirements, and attention should be given to these aspects throughout the design and construction phases. To this end, environmental management guidelines must be communicated from high-level management to relevant sections, and through incentive policies and thorough evaluations, the implementation of green management principles in rural sports clubs should be fully achieved. These actions will not only contribute to environmental preservation but also ensure the long-term sustainability and efficiency of rural sports clubs.
