Analysis of the role of public spaces in promoting the nightlife of the city (case study: Bushehr beach parks)

Urban spaces are one of the important places for the social presence of citizens, which need the vitality and comfort of their audience to continue living. Night activity in such spaces makes these areas more attractive for visitors. This applied research and its purpose was to analyze the role of public spaces in enhancing the night life of the city in Bushehr city. The statistical population in this research is the residents of Bandar Bushehr city, based on the population and housing census of 2015, it had a population of 223,504. The sample size was obtained using Cochran's formula of 384, and 372 passers-by and users of public green spaces of coastal parks were selected by simple random sampling. In this research, by using sources and information and field investigation, taking into account the relevant variables and components, the dependent items related to each of them and the contribution of each were determined. Descriptive statistics methods, central tendency and dispersion indices, as well as inferential statistics methods (correlation coefficient, etc.) were used to analyze the data. The reliability of the research tool (questionnaire) was evaluated with SPSS software and Cronbach's alpha equal to 0.884 was obtained; The results showed that: 1) the component of security dimension with coefficient (41/451); 2) social dimension component with coefficient (38/829); 3) the component of the physical dimension with the coefficient (33.924) and 4) the component of the vitality dimension with the coefficient (24.287) are significant. The calculated average score of the subjects is in the 95% confidence interval of the t-test at its lower limit; And it indicates that, in general, Bushehr beach parks do not have an effective and favorable role in promoting the nightlife of Bandar Bushehr city.
