Abstract
Geotourism is created from the relationship between nature and man-made objects. In geotourism, geomorphological phenomena are more dominant than other geological phenomena. These audiences are not only specialists and experts in geomorphology and geology, but also ordinary tourists and nature enthusiasts. The aim of this research is to identify and evaluate the geotourism capacities of Alborz Province based on the Kobalikova and Fiolet models. In the present study, the Kobalikova model, which emphasizes more on scientific, educational, economic, conservation and cultural criteria, was used, as well as the Fiolet model, which examines geotourism areas based on four criteria: origin of formation, geographical distribution, tourism and accessibility. The results showed that, based on the Kobalikova model, the Chalus Road geotourism area has obtained the highest score compared to other geotourism areas with a value of (25.9). The results of the Violet model also showed that among the geotourism areas of Chalus Road, it has a variety of capabilities compared to other areas with a score of (11) of the total effective items. The Taleghan Dam area received the lowest score in the prioritization of geotourism areas in the Kobalikova and Violet models. The results of the combination of the Fiolet model showed that the Chalus Road geotourism area has favorable conditions for development and attraction of tourists in Alborz province. Therefore, it is concluded that identifying and creating facilities in the geotourism areas of Alborz province will lead to attraction of tourists and development of welfare infrastructure.
