Abstract
Although the time of establishment of the first cities is not known, but cities were founded by people and built by different people. With the increase of opportunities in daily life, urban spaces became a transformed structure in order to respond to various economic and social needs. Especially after the industrial revolution, the situation of cities underwent a great transformation and its functions began to increase and diversify. With the great social events and subsequent great migrations, the population capacity of cities has increased. In this stage, urban problems emerged and infrastructural problems, lack of housing and situations that harm the social structure (such as slums) and environmental problems emerged. Many pioneers and urban theoreticians offered suggestions regarding the solutions to these problems. One of these pioneers was Ebenezer Howard, who proposed the idea of a " garden city " as an urban-rural synthesis where the benefits of rural and urban life can be experienced together, to solve the problems of cities. The purpose of this study is to investigate and explain the conceptual framework of space, garden and garden city system. In the research, first the concept of space and garden is discussed and then the theory of garden city system is analyzed. And finally, it ends with the analysis of the importance of green space in people's lives and efforts to establish it as a basic pillar in urban life
