Abstract
The present study aims to assess and analyze the quality of life in different regions of Mashhad city, with a descriptive-analytical approach based on library data and official statistics. In this regard, six main dimensions including social, economic, physical, environmental, public services and transportation indicators were identified and a set of key indicators was defined for each dimension. In order to analyze the data, the TOPSIS multi-criteria decision-making model was used, which allows for the comparison and ranking of different urban regions. The results show that there are clear differences in the level of service and infrastructure among the thirteen regions of Mashhad. Newer regions such as regions 12 and 10 have a higher level of quality of life, while regions with a worn texture, high density and lack of public services such as regions 3 and 5 are ranked low. Also, indicators such as per capita green space, access to public transportation, quality of health services, and the amount of dilapidated urban fabric have had the greatest impact on the quality of life of citizens. Based on the findings, it can be said that spatial planning based on justice, focusing on recreating inefficient urban fabrics, balanced distribution of services, and improving the quality of the urban environment are among the requirements for improving the quality of life in Mashhad. The present study can be a scientific basis for urban and municipal policymakers' decision-making towards sustainable development and improving urban livability.
