The impact of the consequences of air pollution in the West Asian region on the environmental security of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Abstract
During the last decades,the growth of industries and the consequent excessive consumption of fossil fuels on the one hand,the increase in world population and climate change as the main challenge of development have brought serious consequences for peace and international security,which has become one ofthe important challenges of environmental security at the international level. Therefore,various organizations in the world have studied the dimensions of these changes,which have drawn attention to various social and political consequences of environmental erosion,global warming, conflict over natural resources,and the destruction of the ozone layer,the focus of security studies of the21st century.According to what has been discussed,the current research with a descriptive and analytical approach seeks to answer the central question that how does the consequences of air pollution in the West Asian region affect the environmental security of the Iran?This research is applied and exploratory in nature.The statistical population of the research included a group of experts and experts in geopolitics and environmental security with at least ten years of specialized work experience in strategic jobs and a group of professors from the universities of Da'a and Davos of the Iran Army with specializations related to the subject of the research.The findings of the research showed that climate change is associated with major environmental challenges, the most important of which include crises related to air pollution,major climate changes caused by various types of air pollution and greenhouse gases, fine dust and pollution caused by forest fires that destroy natural ecosystems.And new damage to environmental security.
