Abstract
Security is one of the basic needs of human beings and is of great importance. To the extent that before entering a place or doing something, a person first assesses its safety. Security in urban spaces is one of the important and effective indicators of the dynamism and activity of urban spaces. Women, compared to men, limit their activities and use urban spaces less due to their characteristics and feelings of insecurity. Therefore, this article examines the sense of security of women in urban spaces. This research is a descriptive survey, and its statistical population consists of women over 15 years old. Due to the lack of accurate statistics on the number of women visiting Shahid Hashemi Park, the approximate statistical sample size was determined to be 100 people. Also, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used for the reliability of the questionnaire, and its value was 0.79. Data and information were analyzed descriptively and inferentially in Spss software. Descriptive information is displayed in the form of graphs, and inferential information was tested using Spearman and multiple regression methods. Based on the Spearman test, the variables of park furniture, supervisory institutions, and land uses around the park are effective on women's sense of security, except for the personal characteristics variable, which with 95% confidence has no effect on women's sense of security. Also, the results of multiple regression analysis showed that with a coefficient of determination of 52%, it can be said that the variables of supervisory institutions, park furniture, and land uses around the park affect the level of women's sense of security.
