Abstract
The aim of the present study was to identify the factors affecting the role of resource management in the development of sports tourism services in Fars Province. The present research was applied in nature and qualitative, using thematic analysis. The statistical population of the study consisted of professors of sport management, professors of tourism, heads of sports federations, and researchers in sport management and tourism. The sample was selected from among members of the population using purposive and snowball sampling methods. The research instrument was a semi-structured interview conducted with 15 experts in the study, and data collection continued until theoretical saturation was reached. The validity of the study was confirmed by relevant experts, and the reliability of the study was obtained using the intra-theme agreement method, with a value of 88%. The results of the study showed that the factors affecting the role of resource management in the development of sports tourism services in Fars Province were transformed into 62 key points, 9 concepts, and 4 focused categories. These categories were classified into four main organizing themes, including management of tourism service training, institutionalization of tourism culture, intelligent management of tourism information, and tourism knowledge management. These four themes served as the theoretical and practical framework of the study and showed how the field findings were elevated into broader themes and formed the basis for designing the research model. Accordingly, simultaneous implementation of these components with an integrated approach provides the necessary infrastructure for improving service quality and achieving sustainable development of sports tourism in this province.
