Abstract
Recreating historical context in line with smart tourism means reviving and strengthening the historical identity of urban spaces by using modern technologies. In this approach, by preserving cultural and architectural values, the necessary infrastructures are provided for easier access, digital information, and better management of tourists. The use of tools such as guide applications, augmented reality, and smart systems can enrich and make the visitor experience more attractive. In addition to increasing tourist attraction, this process also contributes to economic prosperity, preserving cultural heritage, and the sustainability of historical context. The purpose of the present study is to examine the recreating of historical context in line with smart tourism. Case study: Bushehr city. The present study is theoretical-applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of nature and method. The ISM model method has been used to organize information and calculations in this study. In this study, first, by examining theoretical foundations and interviewing experts, key factors affecting the promotion of historical context were identified, and then, using the ISM model, causal and hierarchical relationships between these variables were developed. The research findings show that information technology infrastructure and spatial data governance, as underlying factors, play a decisive role in empowering other components, including enhancing the tourist experience and restoring physical-social sustainability. Finally, by identifying this pattern, a proposed strategic framework has been presented for transforming the historical context of Bushehr into a smart tourism destination that can, while preserving the authenticity of cultural heritage, pave the way for sustainable economic development and increasing the attractiveness of this context for domestic and international tourists.
