Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of smart urban furniture in advancing sustainable development and strengthening social sustainability within District 8 of the Tabriz Municipality. In the contemporary era, cities face escalating challenges regarding environmental, economic, and social sustainability. Smart urban furniture, as a modern innovation in urban planning, holds significant potential to address these challenges and enhance the quality of urban life. Utilizing a descriptive-survey research methodology, this study examines the relationship between smart furniture components and the dimensions of sustainable development (environmental and economic) and social sustainability. The statistical population comprised all residents of Tabriz’s District 8, with a sample size of 384 determined via the Cochran formula. Data were collected through standardized Likert 5-point scale questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS software. The results indicate relatively high mean scores for smart furniture components (M = 4.1) and social sustainability (M = 3.8). Furthermore, environmental (M = 3.5) and economic (M = 3.2) sustainable development dimensions were found to be at acceptable levels. Key findings reveal a significant correlation between smart furniture and social sustainability at a 95% confidence level (

). Additionally, regression analysis demonstrated that smart furniture accounts for 45% of the variance in environmental sustainable development and 38% of the variance in economic sustainable development. These results underscore the importance and necessity of investing in and developing smart urban furniture infrastructures to achieve sustainable development goals and enhance urban social cohesion and stability.
