Abstract

Topographical models provide important information for users about the terrain and surface phenomena. Google Earth is a computer program, one of the top 3D simulation software with top 3D viewing tools that renders a 3D representation of Earth based primarily on satellite imagery. The program maps the Earth by superimposing satellite images, aerial photography, and GIS data onto a 3D globe. The capability to create 3D models has been integrated in different softwares; such as Surfer and ArcGIS softwares. In these softwares environment, elevation points are the most essential items for creating digital terrestrial models. In this study, initially, elevation points were extracted by a new method of using Google Earth and next; various types of 2D & 3D maps have been created by using Surfer and ArcGIS softwares. Then, topographic models were created in Google Earth environment.by integrating of maps from the Firouzabad salt domes, Fars Province (Konarsiah & Jahani).
