Assessment and Zoning, the Utility Map of Military Climate for Kurdestan Province

Abstract

Climate has a major impact on all human activities. Climate is one of the most important factors that influence the geographical and military defense, which must be considered by the designers in the field of defense and military doctrine, tactics, and even the type of troops, military equipment, clothing, logistics and maintenance. This means applying the principles and concepts of the climate to the applied framework. It was suggested, military climate index (MCI), in order to assess the climate conditions for any military operation which can be used to estimate the military climate in different months. In this research, using 7 climate variables and related data from five synoptic stations (Kurdestan Province), the first index of the military climate was calculated; then, the utility map of the military climate in different months of the year was obtained using ArcGIS and Surfer software and eventually lands in the Google Earth environment.
