Abstract

The tourism industry is one of the most important and attractive activities in the world today, which over time has become one of the largest and fastest economic sectors in the world and is considered as the engine of development. One of the challenges of the tourism industry is to reduce the gap between the current educational programs of tourism and the needs of the workforce because the rapid development of the tourism industry requires skilled and qualified workforce. Since education is a key tool to achieve sustainability, effective education programs can provide an essential part of tourism sustainability programs. Therefore, tourism education is very important in preparing the main frontline players to deal with the recovery period in the tourism sector. In this review article, using electronic resources and written resources, while pointing out the importance of educational programs in the promotion of tourism development, especially virtual education, suggestions are provided.
