Abstract
With the emergence of the industrial revolution and the change of attitudes and exploitation of nature, there has been a rupture between urban spaces and natural systems. This has resulted in the formation of soulless urban spaces that do not have any compatibility with the spirits, needs, and innate human dependence on nature. Countless issues and problems caused by this separation have become one of the important concerns of urban planners. In this regard, the biophilic approach as a new and community-oriented approach based on nature-oriented in urban spaces, by applying environmental, citizen-oriented and management indicators, seeks urban ecological sustainability. In this regard, the aim of the current research is to explain and investigate the status of biophilic city indicators on the mental and psychological health of the citizens of Ardabil city. The current research method is descriptive-analytical and specialized measures using 60 items, including biophilic infrastructure (14 items), biophilic activity (14 items). , biophilic attitude and awareness (11 items), institutions and organizations related to biophilic city (10 items), social and mental health (10 items). Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to determine the reliability of the research tool The obtained alpha is (.932). According to the findings of the research, the average of all the studied variables is less than the average (3), which indicates the lack of proper infrastructure and the lack of knowledge of the managers and planners about the biophilic city, as well as the results of the current research. It shows the importance of the existence of green spaces in the health of the citizens and the improvement of the components related to mental health, so it is hoped that the relevant professionals will realize the importance of the existence of green spaces and put the expansion of such spaces in the priority of their plans.
