Abstract
Modern approaches to rural development emphasize the importance of engaging rural communities in various income-generating activities to enhance the resilience and sustainability of their livelihoods. Agritourism, as a growing industry, embodies this characteristic. This study, using a comprehensive framework, examined the characteristics and determinants of agritourism adoption in the Mamasani region. Data were collected from a random sample of 367 rural households across five districts using multi-stage sampling. The results of the binary logit model estimation revealed that human capital, physical capital, social capital, and government support policies positively and significantly influence farmers' decisions to participate in agritourism activities. Conversely, as the distance of the farm from the market increases, the likelihood of adopting agritourism decreases. This study recommends prioritizing support for educational and skill-building activities, strengthening social networks and local cooperation, and diversifying income sources. Additionally, government support through the provision of facilities, financial aid, and technical assistance should be emphasized to enhance participation in agritourism activities.
