The present study, aimed at examining the role of the municipality in improving the quality of citizens' living environment, is an applied research conducted using a survey method and a descriptive approach. After defining the objectives and formulating the research questions, a composite questionnaire comprising 39 questions was designed based on theoretical items relevant to the overall theme. To assess validity, face validity was employed, and the questionnaire was approved by academic experts. Additionally, the reliability of the instrument was evaluated by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The statistical population of this research includes all households residing in District 9 of Mashhad Municipality. According to the latest census data from 2016, this district has a population of 327,061 people in 103,093 households. The sample size was determined using Cochran’s formula with a 5% margin of error, resulting in a sample of 383 households. A non-probability sampling method was used, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 26 through one-sample t-tests and regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that all indicators related to the quality of life status of residents, in connection with the actions of District 9 Municipality and satisfaction with urban services, are statistically significant. Ultimately, the research findings demonstrate that municipal actions in providing urban services have a positive and significant impact on improving the quality of life of residents in District 9.
