Regarding the geographical position and appropriate environmental situation, solar energy is regarded as one of the most efficient renewable energies in Iran. This study seeks to provide a model for identifying the optimal locations of the establishment of solar panels in the urban setting. High potential and appropriate space of the buildings' roofs with high altitude and their placement subject to direct sunlight and non-optimal use of these spaces has necessitates the optimal location of the establishment of solar panels for the production of easy and cheap energy. In this study, first, the feature of locations suitable for the establishment of solar panels in the urban environment and the source of production of required layers were identified. The required layers for access to the appropriate locations of the establishment of solar panels were prepared and were spatially modeled. The final objective of this paper is to provide a scientific and practical model for replacing renewable energies instead of fossil fuels in Iran. Based on the fuzzy Delphi method and its integration in the geographical information system in this study, a suitable method was provided for the evaluation and selection of the best place for the exploitation of renewable energies.
