Specific electrical resistance and induced polarization are among the methods used in the detailed exploration phase to identify the location of subsurface and hidden mineralization at depth. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to evaluate and model geophysical studies using specific resistance and induced polarization methods in the Kohdlan region of East Azerbaijan province. Due to its unique geological location and its location in the Ahar-Jolfa metallurgical belt, the Kohdalan region in East Azarbaijan province is important in terms of mineral potential and underground water resources. In this research, in order to accurately evaluate the dispersion of mineral deposits, geophysical methods of specific resistance and induced polarization have been used. The data obtained from field surveys have been processed and interpreted using specialized software, and core maps and geophysical sections have been prepared. Also, using the dipole-dipole arrangement on three profiles with different lengths and equal electrode distance of 20 meters, a total of 976 measuring stations were investigated. The depth of the studies from the surface up to a maximum of 50 meters was investigated using the final models resulting from the inversion of the data of induced polarization and specific electrical resistance with the help of Res2Dinv specialized software. On the other hand, the promising areas containing minerals were identified as geophysical anomalies at each point separately, and in order to investigate them, points were suggested for conducting exploratory excavations. The results of this research, while contributing to the sustainable development of the Kohdalan region, will provide the basis for conducting more accurate and targeted explorations to identify and exploit the mineral resources and underground waters of this region.
