The economy of nomadic communities relies on the breeding and selling of livestock; therefore, establishing livestock markets for the buying and selling (marketing) of nomadic animals is crucial, by considering effective ecological and socio-economic criteria. The nomadic community in Fars Province consists of three tribes and eight independent clans, whose livelihoods depend on the breeding of light livestock. According to the significance of this issue, the main objective of this research was to identify and select optimal areas for establishing livestock market centers in Fars Province. In the process the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Weighted Linear Combination (WLC) were utilized based on multi-criteria decision-making method. Initially, ecological analysis was conducted using effective criteria, followed by economic and social analysis through questionnaires and the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Finally, based on the conditions of the province and economic viability, several counties were excluded from the site selection process. Finally, based on the useful founding from both ecological and socio-economic analyses, six regions in Fars Province were selected as the primary centers for livestock markets, located in the counties of Firuzabad, Darab, Arsanjan, Khonj, Shiraz, and Eqlid.
