In Iran, a large proportion of agricultural produce is lost every year because the harvesting machines are not effective enough. A suitable strategy to overcome this problem is the use of harvesting machines that maximize precision. The most developed part of precision farming technologies is yield monitoring. These technologies are suitable alternatives to the current inefficient harvesting machines. The aim of this research was to identify the determinants of behavioral intention and attitude of experts in Fars and Bushehr provinces towards yield monitoring technologies in order to disseminate and educate such technologies in Iran. This study is applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of the method of data collection. A stratified random sampling was used to collect data from 287 experts. Results of data analysis using structural equation modeling showed that among the experts of Bushehr province, perceived usefulness has the most direct effect on intention to use. Individual innovativeness has the most direct effect on intention to use of experts in Fars province, and in the two groups, perceived usefulness is the best determination of intention to use. Perceived consequences of precision agricultural technologies and the perceived usefulness are effective on the attitude to use of experts in Bushehr province regarding performance of monitoring technologies, and attitude to use of experts in Fars province is affected by the perceived usefulness, attitude of confidence, controllability of behavior and perceived consequences of precision agricultural technologies. Planning in-service courses and educational workshops, emphasizing precision agriculture education in universities, forming a network of specialists, trainers and experts and implementing internship programs to increase the attitude and intention of experts are some of the suggestions of this research.
