Geotourism is one of the branches of tourism that mainly considers geological potentials and geomorphological perspectives. Geotourism is a contemporary and modern phenomenon that has been known all over the world since the late 1980s. The aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of geotourism capabilities of Germi city using Kirchner model and GAM. In this study, first, the geotourism and geotourism features of Karaj city were identified and evaluated. In the first stage, the geotourism capabilities of different regions of the city were evaluated using Kirchner model. This model determines the ability to attract tourists with the help of criteria such as geological diversity, access to scenic spots and environmental quality. In the next step, the General Linear Analysis (GAM) method was used to analyze and predict the effects of different variables on geotourism capabilities. This method allows for the examination of nonlinear relationships between variables and can help identify factors affecting tourist attraction. The results of the study of the geotourism indices of the regions show that Dizin Ski Resort has the highest score with a score of 3.5 in the tourism sub-index in terms of the GAM model. This region also has high potential for economic development. The results of the Kirchner model calculations also show that Dizin Ski Resort has a total score of 3. Also, in this geosite, the scientific value with (0.85) points is the highest and the conservation value with (0.62) points is the lowest. Therefore, it is concluded that the Dizin ski resort in Karaj city has a high potential to attract tourists, especially the surrounding mountainous areas with beautiful natural landscapes, which indicates a high geotourism potential in Karaj city in Alborz province.
