This article examines the participation of host children in the tourism industry and their perceptions of this experience. According to global statistics, millions of children are engaged in economic activities, with a significant portion working in the tourism sector. This issue not only points to the economic and social challenges associated with child labor but also relates to matters such as children's rights and cultural impacts.

In this study, data were collected through focus group interviews and informal conversations with children in Tabriz, Iran. The primary aim of this research is to analyze the positive and negative roles of host children in tourism. The findings reveal that host children, with a deep understanding of cultural concepts such as karma and benevolence, experience a sense of social responsibility and a desire to help others. These values assist them in interacting better with tourists in their social engagements and strengthen their sense of self-reliance and cultural identity.

However, these children also face challenges such as feelings of shame, financial pressure, and the dangers associated with working. These challenges can negatively impact their mental health and quality of life, leading to feelings of insecurity and anxiety. Therefore, this article emphasizes the necessity of a deeper understanding of children's experiences and the design of effective support policies to help improve their living conditions and social development.

Ultimately, the results of this research can assist policymakers, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders in designing effective programs and strategies to support the rights of children in the tourism industry and to create a safe and supportive environment for these children.
