Startup is a concept in the world of entrepreneurship and a new set based on new ideas and thoughts that have no previous experience and therefore have their own risks. Despite the rapid expansion of studies, academic literature on this subject is extremely scarce, especially in the field of rural studies, and in particular, the causes of the failure of agricultural startups are not clear. To address this research gap, the present study seeks to examine the harms of startups' failure in marketing and developing the agricultural business cycle in the peri-urban spaces of Tabriz. In terms of data collection, it is of mixed type, based on Q methodology and in the category of applied research. The indicators in the form of five latent variables and 36 explicit variables as Q propositions were theoretically cited and provided to the panel members consisting of 24 idea owners for scoring in a Q-specific ranking table. The villages within a 5 -kilometer radius of Tabriz city are the statistical population of the study. Seven factors or perspectives were extracted: "Individual-Social Challenges", " Progress and Development Challenges ", " Global Innovation Challenges ", " Competitive Advantage Challenges ", " Innovation Challenges in Business and Digital Marketing ", " Global Innovation Challenges and Social Barriers", and "Major Challenges and Fundamental Barriers ". Based on the research results, the statements " Lack of previous experience and having specific risks ", "Failure to pay attention to startups as a compensation for the legacy of agriculture ", " Innovation in business is not recognized as one of the most important sustainable sources of competitive advantage and " Weakness in attracting global talents" were identified as the most important statements in favor of or significant harms to the failure of startups in marketing and developing the agricultural business cycle
