Islam, as one of the world's largest religions, is not only a religious religion but also a way of life for society. It is necessary to study architecture and urban fabric and its constituent elements, considering the prevalence of modernity and elements of modernism and its contrast with the specific culture prevailing in Islamic society, in order to develop the ability of Iranian Islamic architecture and urban planning in line with the growth and prosperity of society, the needs of the day, and the advancement of technology. In this study, which is descriptive-analytical and research-based, and using library and master studies, and studying historical documents, and using photographs of historical monuments, aerial photographs, and field studies, it was conducted to examine the intellectual and religious foundations of the culture and ideology of the Islamic city in new and modern cities. As a result, Islamic culture, as a fundamental principle in the design of new cities, has a significant impact on the physical, social, and cultural structure of these cities. Considering contemporary developments, new cities need to redesign their structures while maintaining Islamic principles. Combining Islamic traditions with modern technologies provides an opportunity to recreate Islamic cities in a sustainable and balanced way. This process can meet the daily needs of urban life while preserving religious identity. Cities like Qaim Mashhad Medina and even modern projects like Masdar in the UAE demonstrate efforts to create an Islamic atmosphere within the context of modernity.
