The environment, as the fundamental basis of life for humans and all other living beings across generations, holds paramount importance. Its condition is influenced by various factors, with environmentally responsible behaviors being a critical determinant. This study investigates the factors influencing pro-environmental behaviors among marginalized residents in the Siahayi neighborhood of Ahvaz. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, this research is both theoretical and applied in its objectives. The statistical population comprises 10,441 residents of the Siahayi neighborhood in Ahvaz, from which a sample of 370 individuals was determined using Cochran’s formula. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS and Excel. The findings indicate the following: First, higher levels of social capital (trust, participation, and communication networks) positively and significantly predict pro-environmental behaviors; the regression model explains 72% of the variance in pro-environmental behaviors through these variables. Second, indigenous cultural and religious narratives exhibit a strong, positive, and significant relationship with pro-environmental behaviors, playing a crucial role in shaping and reinforcing these behaviors. These findings underscore the importance of considering socio-cultural factors when seeking to enhance pro-environmental behaviors within marginalized communities, particularly in the Siahayi neighborhood
