With this necessity, in the present study, the spatial distribution of pharmacies in the neighborhoods of Ardabil city was examined and analyzed. The research method is descriptive-analytical, and the data used includes the location and characteristics of active pharmacies, which were obtained from the Deputy Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of Ardabil province. This information was entered as a layer in Arc GIS software according to the specified address and updated with field observations and available maps. In the following, spatial statistics and buffering techniques were used in the geographic information system (GIS) to analyze the data. The results showed that there is an average of one pharmacy per 3652 people in Ardabil city, which is lower than the standards of the World Health Organization, but compared to the per capita and national standards, it is in a good condition. The concentration center of pharmacies in Ardabil city is neighborhood 8 of district one (Sarcheshmeh, Koi Towi and Masoomin neighborhoods), which is the center of doctors' offices. On the other hand, the peripheral areas of Ardabil (southwest and northeast) have no or less access to pharmacies. In general, the spatial distribution of pharmacies in Ardabil has a scattered (regular) pattern. The service coverage status of pharmacies in Ardabil city also showed that 96.81% of the city areas (2565 hectares) have adequate and very adequate access to part-time and daily pharmacies and 71% (1837 hectares) have adequate access to hospital and overnight pharmacies. . Also, the results showed a significant relationship between the distribution of pharmacies with population density and crowded streets of Ardabil city, so that it can be said that most pharmacies are located in neighborhoods with high population density and in crowded streets.
