Today, the rapid growth of urbanization and the increasing urban population have created numerous challenges in urban management and improving citizens’ quality of life. In this context, the smart city approach, as one of the modern solutions based on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), has been considered with the aim of improving urban services, increasing the efficiency of urban management, optimizing resource utilization, and enhancing citizens’ welfare. The present study aims to investigate the impact of urban smartization on the quality of life of citizens in Ahvaz Metropolis. This research is applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of methodology. The required data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The statistical population of the study consists of the citizens of Ahvaz Metropolis. The findings indicate a positive and significant relationship between the level of urban smartization and citizens’ quality of life. The results also show that the development of smart services, particularly in areas such as access to urban services, reduction of in-person visits, facilitation of administrative processes, and expansion of electronic services, has played an important role in increasing citizens’ satisfaction. However, in some areas such as smart transportation and environmental management, the effectiveness of implemented measures has not yet reached a desirable level and requires further infrastructure development, investment, and comprehensive planning. Overall, the results of this study show that urban smartization can play an effective role in improving the quality of life of citizens in Ahvaz Metropolis. Nevertheless, the full realization of smart city objectives requires the development of technological infrastructure, coordination among executive organizations, and increased citizen participation in urban management processes.
