Urban parks, as multifunctional green spaces, play a vital role in the development of health tourism and, beyond recreational functions, act as a platform for improving the physical and mental health of tourists. By creating relaxing environments, these spaces have a high potential to attract tourists who are looking for preventive care or recovery after treatment. In health tourism development models, urban parks can be designed as "green recovery centers". Ultimately, intelligent planning in these parks not only increases the persistence of tourists in the destination, but also, as a competitive advantage, strengthens the city's health brand among health tourism destinations and creates a sustainable link between the urban ecosystem and improving the quality of life of tourists. The aim of the present study is to investigate the role of urban parks in the development of health tourism (case study: District 6 of Tehran Metropolitan Area). The present study is theoretical-applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of nature and method. In organizing information and calculations in this study, Shannon entropy tools and method were used. In this study, the quantitative method "Shannon entropy" was used to weight the selected criteria, which include accessibility indicators, environmental quality, welfare services, and health-oriented infrastructure, in order to eliminate subjective biases and extract the importance coefficient of each variable accurately and based on real data. The results obtained show that the unbalanced distribution of health-oriented potentials in this region requires a review of the management of green spaces to improve their position in the medical tourism chain. The findings of this study provide a strategic framework for urban managers to transform the parks of Region 6 into active hubs of recovery and health in the heart of Tehran's busy fabric by prioritizing the key indicators identified by the entropy model.
