Urban resilience to subsidence is achieved using metaverse modeling by creating geological “digital twins” that allow the behavior of soil layers and infrastructures in the face of potential subsidence to be simulated in 3D and in real time. By integrating data from Internet of Things (IoT) sensors in a virtual reality environment, this technology helps urban planners identify critical infrastructure hotspots before damage occurs and test management scenarios and engineering interventions in a safe and risk-free environment. Ultimately, this proactive approach, by improving the ability to predict and accurately analyze subsidence, reduces reconstruction costs and increases the long-term sustainability of the city structure against geological hazards. The aim of the present study is to analyze urban resilience to land subsidence using metaverse modeling. Case study: Tabriz city. This research is applied-theoretical in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of method. The required information and data were collected through library and field methods. The ISM model was used in this research. In this study, first, key resilience indicators (including infrastructure, social, and crisis management) were extracted and then, using the interpretive structural model (ISM), the interrelationships and levels of influence of these indicators were formulated in the form of a hierarchical network. Metaverse modeling in this context, as a digital twin tool, transferred the output data of the ISM model to a simulated and three-dimensional environment to enable the analysis of subsidence scenarios in the historical and dense context of Tabriz. The results show that integrating structural modeling with metaverse platforms, while identifying infrastructure vulnerability bottlenecks, improves the predictive power of urban management and leads to the development of operational strategies to increase the physical sustainability of the city in the face of land subsidence challenges.
