Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate land use and vegetation changes using NDVI in two critical areas of Niatek and Jazink with an area of about 131,660 hectares in the southeast of Zabol, located in the north of Sistan and Baluchestan province. This area includes a sector in the southeast to northwest direction that has 2 geomorphological units: plain and playa. One of the important objectives of this study is to provide appropriate solutions to minimize the damage caused by wind-blown debris hazards and its secondary damage in the sectors of facilities, agriculture, roads, and damage to the region.
Methodology: The method of conducting this research was field surveys, aerial photographs, satellite images with different time periods, surveying the general morphology and winds of the region (The 120-day wind) and locating in terms of studying the geomorphology of the region. In this research, topographic maps, geological maps, computer software such as ENVI and GIS were used. Sampling of sediments (sedimentology and drawing relevant diagrams) and XRF (X-ray fluorescence) laboratory studies, comparative analysis and data analysis method has been done.
Findings: According to the research results, 41% of the region's land has been added to barren lands, and the most significant changes are related to the conversion of water areas (equivalent to 12,581 hectares), wetland-forest mixtures (7,841.3), flooded agricultural lands equivalent to (3,073.22) hectares, and poor pastures (equivalent to 4,495.8 hectares) to this use. Other changes during this period include the destruction of 61% of flooded agricultural lands
