This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of smart urban furniture in advancing sustainable development and strengthening social sustainability in the Tabriz metropolis. In today’s world, cities face growing challenges regarding environmental, economic, and social sustainability. Smart urban furniture, as one of the modern innovations in urban planning, holds high potential for addressing these challenges and enhancing citizens’ quality of life. Utilizing a descriptive-survey research method, this study investigates the relationship between the components of smart furniture and the dimensions of sustainable development (environmental and economic) as well as social sustainability. The statistical population of the study comprised all citizens of the Tabriz metropolis, and using Cochran’s formula, the sample size was determined to be 384 individuals. Data were collected through standard questionnaires based on a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using SPSS software. The results of the data analysis indicated relatively high means for the components of smart furniture (4.1) and social sustainability (3.8). Furthermore, the means for environmental sustainable development (3.5) and economic sustainable development (3.2) were also at acceptable levels. ). In addition, regression analysis revealed that smart furniture can explain 45% of the variance in environmental sustainable development and 38% of the variance in economic sustainable development. These results emphasize the importance and necessity of investing in and developing smart urban furniture infrastructure to achieve sustainable development goals and enhance social cohesion and sustainability in urban areas.
